Car insurance premiums could skyrocket 50% in some states this year!

Car insurance rates are surging — and could spike over 50% in these states!


A new report published by Insurify, an insurance comparison shopping site, shows the average U.S. rate for full auto insurance surged to $2,329 in the first half of 2024. That marks a 15% increase from 2023 and a stunning 48% spike when compared with 2021.

The inflation measure closely watched by the Fed rose 2.5% in July!

Commerce Department releases closely watched inflation data!

The Commerce Department reported Friday that the personal consumption expenditures price index rose 0.2% from the previous month. On an annual basis, prices climbed 2.5%. Those figures are mostly in line with expectations.

When excluding food and energy prices, which are more volatile, so-called core prices climbed 0.2% for the month and remain up 2.6% when compared with the same time last year.

Cash in money market accounts at record level as rate cuts loom!

The record comes as Fed Chair Jerome Powell signaled that progress on inflation will warrant interest rate cuts!

The amount of cash held by investors in money market accounts reached a record level in August, even as looming interest rate cuts would lower their returns.

Money market account assets hit $6.24 trillion this month, according to data from the Investment Company Institute as of Aug. 21, despite markets becoming increasingly confident that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates at its Sept. 17-18 policy meeting.
