Buffett's Berkshire currently holding more short-term US Treasury bills than the Federal Reserve!

Buffett is a longtime investor in U.S. Treasury bills, which he views as the 'safest investment there is'!

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway is currently sitting on a massive reserve of short-term U.S. Treasury bills that exceeds the amount of the securities held by the Federal Reserve.


The company announced in its latest earnings report that it has $234.6 billion in short-term Treasury bills on its books — a sizable increase from the $130 billion it held at the end of last year and an amount that surpasses the $195 billion in T-bills held on the Federal Reserve's balance sheet.

Chevron exec explains HQ move from California to Texas: "tough place to do business"!

Chevron plans to maintain a California presence through its refineries and retail network after the HQ transition!

Chevron's announcement last week that it would relocate its corporate headquarters from California to Texas occurred in part because it was becoming increasingly difficult to do business in California, a Chevron executive said Thursday.

Andy Walz, Chevron's president of Americas products, told reporters that the headquarters move comes after the company had gradually moved a number of employees from the San Ramon headquarters to the new headquarters in Texas in recent years as keeping them in the Golden State was becoming unsustainable.

LL Flooring to close 94 stores as it files for bankruptcy!

The company is seeking to close 94 stores!

Retailer LL Flooring is filing for bankruptcy and looking to close over 90 of its stores, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

On Sunday, the company filed for relief under Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. It aims to "pursue a going-concern sale of its business," the company said in a statement.

"After comprehensive efforts to enhance our liquidity position in a challenging macro environment, a determination was made that initiating this Chapter 11 process is the best path forward for the company," CEO Charles Tyson said.

US producer prices rose in July!

The producer price index for final demand gained 0.1% last month!

The producer price index for final demand gained 0.1% last month after rising by an unrevised 0.2% in June, the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics said on Tuesday. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast the PPI gaining 0.2%.

In the 12 months through July, the PPI increased 2.2% after climbing 2.7% in June.
