Title: Return of the Gold Standard as world order unravels
Post by: Byteryder on 07 15, 11, 12:44:09:AM
. As the twin pillars of international monetary system threaten to come tumbling down in unison, gold has reclaimed its ancient status as the anchor of stability. The spot price surged to an all-time high of $1,594 an ounce in London, lifting silver to $39 in its train.

And Bernanke said a couple of days ago when questioned, point blank, by Ron Paul in House committee that gold is not money.  That idiot is controlling monetary policy?  It's not diamonds they are storing in Fort Knox, assuming anything is in there but gold plated tungsten bars, if that.  It's not oil that central banks around the world are buying for reserves.  6000 years of human action has determined what real money is.

Quantitative Easing will go viral, enough to call it Global QE.  The common theme is the ruin of paper "money".   Gold and silver will continue to react, gold first with solid gains, then silver with massive gains to follow.  Absolutely, positively, no doubt about it.  You heard it here, folks.  Take it to the bank, errr, buy gold.  Do it for yourselves.  Do it now.  Ultimately, each of us is responsible for his own safety.  Rioting and protesting in the streets will get you nothing from the arseholes who did this.

The near future is going to be a wonderful time to be alive.  If this goes down, it could be the defining event of the new Millinium.  At the least an event of unprecedented World impact.

The "Golden Rule" will reign supreme.  Those who have the Gold, make the Rules.

"republican" and "democrat" will be meaningless.  "conservative" and "liberal" likewise without form.  There could even be a peroid of relative Anarchy.  But, it is necessary.  Man is too arrogant to understand without a powerful slap in the face from Reality.

BINGO byte!!!!

You stated the "Golden Rule" perfectly....Those with the gold make the rules.... (http://www.aesopsretreat.com/forum/Smileys/classic/smiley.gif)

Three years ago I started increasing the amount of precious metals in my portfolio.....now I'm mostly into Silver, mostly for tax purposes....they don't track Silver the way they do Gold and it's WAY easier to trade quickly.

We are RAPIDLY approaching a time when the collapse of all these fiat currencies is at hand....THEN the "Golden Rule" will kick in....The big benefit with a currency realignment is the collapse of a taxing system....thus, the greedy left will have NO WAY to get at what other people EARNED!

I LOVE IT!

Actually Hooty.....You're RIGHT!

This is amazing! I DO take physical possession of all metals.....Gezzzz, I might want to mark this day on the calendar...."Hooty right again"....although, rarely.

.....and, I may be a dullard, but when the time comes, you'll think back and reflect.....that Dullard was on to something..... (http://www.aesopsretreat.com/forum/Smileys/classic/smiley.gif)

Gold is a commodity... like oil, silver and pork-bellies.  It's sold on the commodities market.

(You can't buy groceries with oil or pork-bellies, either.)

Like any other money, gold is not consumed.  The vast majority of the gold mined throughout 6000 years is readily available in someone's ownership/control.   A small percentage is unrecoverable in industrial/consumer goods or lost.
