Vit, are you saying his debt was paid off with tax payer money?

No, it was private money.    Kinda like a bribe.

Do you think judges should be allowed to take these kind of gifts hooker?

I think Judge's should do what is legal. The fact that he voted against, according to you, forgiving contracted debts that taxpayers would have to cover, is correct!

taxpayers already cover lots of debts for public colleges hooker.   Why not cover student debt?

college in the US should be free to all as long as they are advancing towards a degree and keep their grades to a certain standard.

what states have free universities, not California. Why doesn't a uber liberal state, that controls the assembly, senate and Governor, have free universities, vit?
You do know that these school loans are used for a lot more than tuition. Why should I, a taxpayer, pay for someone's tuition, housing, food, computer and so on, vit?

Especially when I worked 3 jobs and my wife worked so we could put our kids through the Universities.

Remember, CCPWvit has not proven his claims and provided no links!

Also, he is the same person who did this:

Arkansas  #PHOTOGRAPHS THAT CHANGED THE #WORLD. #WillCounts, 1957: #LittleRockNine. The original caption states a photograph taken by Will Counts of #ElizabethEckford attempting to enter Little Rock School on 4th September 1957. The girl shouting is Hazel Massery. Elizabeth Eckford (born October 4, 1941) is one of the Little Rock Nine, a group of African-American students who, in 1957, were the first black students ever to attend classes at Little Rock Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas.

And this:
Always remember that this lawsuit in Colorado was brought against trump by the GOP.

CCPWvit caught in another obvious lie!

The board chairs of the group that brought the lawsuit leading to former President Donald Trump's removal from the 2024 Colorado ballot had previously donated large sums to President Biden's campaign and victory fund, filings reviewed by Fox News Digital show.

The Colorado Supreme Court disqualified Trump from the ballot on Tuesday under the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution over the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots.

"We do not reach these conclusions lightly," the court's majority wrote. "We are mindful of the magnitude and weight of the questions now before us. We are likewise mindful of our solemn duty to apply the law, without fear or favor, and without being swayed by public reaction to the decisions that the law mandates we reach."

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), a self-identified "nonpartisan" watchdog group, brought the Colorado lawsuit against Trump on behalf of "six Republican and unaffiliated Colorado voters including former state, federal and local officials," the group wrote on its website in early September.

And this:
Most Americans never experience a violent crime unless they are involved with drugs or people doing drugs.   Alcohol use is the biggest problem in America contributing to violence in the home.

If you stay away from drugs and people doing illegal drugs you're chances of being involved in a violent crime are practically zero.

And this:
You Literally Can't Believe The Facts Tucker Carlson Tells You. So Say Fox's Lawyers  NPR's opinion not the judge's opinion!

The "'general tenor' of the show should then inform a viewer that [Carlson] is not 'stating actual facts' about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in 'exaggeration' and 'non-literal commentary.' "   NPR's opinion, not the judge's opinion!

"Fox persuasively argues, that given Mr. Carlson's reputation, any reasonable viewer 'arrive with an appropriate amount of skepticism' about the statement he makes."  Of course as it is an opinion show!

Vyskocil, an appointee of President Trump's, added, "Whether the Court frames Mr. Carlson's statements as 'exaggeration,' 'non-literal commentary,' or simply bloviating for his audience, the conclusion remains the same — the statements are not actionable."  Of course as opinion is never actionable!

Carlson presents his own narrative, not even one extrapolating from known facts.  That is the opinion of NPR, not that of the judge, in this case, Carlson took the facts he had and reached a reasonable conclusion!  The plaintiff never proved that conclusion was wrong!

Read the actual opinion not the selective snippets and outright lies from a bigoted leftist!
https://law.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/new-york/nysdce/1:2019cv11161/527808/39/

"CONCLUSION
Plaintiff Karen McDougal claims to have been defamed by accusations of “extortion” leveled at her by Tucker Carlson on Defendant Fox News Network’s broadcast.  However, as described herein, Ms. McDougal has not offered a plausible interpretation that the statements Mr. Carlson made, when read in context, are statements of fact.  The Court concludes that the statements are rhetorical hyperbole and opinion commentary intended to frame a political debate, and, as such, are not actionable as defamation.  In addition, as a public figure, Ms. McDougal must raise a plausible inference of actual malice to sustain her defamation claim.  She has failed to do so.  The Amended Complaint offers only conclusory allegations about Mr. Carlson’s alleged biases and otherwise pursues theories that are pre-empted by long-standing precedent.  For these reasons, Defendant Fox News’s Motion to Dismiss the Amended Complaint [ECF #28] is GRANTED."

That’s a question for Congress.  Without their approval it’s illegal.

wouldn't you think a better educated populace would be a benefit for our country and our industry dan?    especially as our future becomes more and more dependent on technology.

if they were better educated they should have no problem paying their school loan.

Title: Re: Justice for Sale
Post by: wvit1001 on 05 10, 24, 10:31:50:PM
why should they be saddled with a school loan?   that kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it local.

In a country as technically advanced as the US an educated population is a major plus for our economy.

When asked why they are hiring more employees with college degrees for positions that had been primarily held by those with high school degrees, 61 percent of employers said the skills required for their positions have evolved, requiring a higher base level of education.

According to a CareerBuilder survey, 33 percent of employers have raised educational requirements over the last five years. Thirty-three percent are hiring workers with master's degrees for positions that had been primarily held by those with four-year degrees, and 41 percent are hiring employees with undergraduate degrees for positions that had been primarily held by those with high school degrees.

A better question is why should the taxpayer be saddled with their loan?

Why should I be saddled with having to pay for a Mercedes?  WTF? (http://www.aesopsretreat.com/forum/Smileys/classic/huh.gif)

This is a free country.  You make your own choices and then you pay for those choices.  You don’t demand other people pay for your choices.

Besides, the quality of college education is pathetic.  There are trade schools which offer much better education at a fraction of the cost of the “elite” colleges.
